Civil Engineer - Water Resources Focus

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Civil Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources Engineering (WRE) to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of essential water-related projects that impact our community and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic studies and analyses using industry-standard software.
  • Develop and design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of WRE projects, including stormwater management, floodplain analysis, and water quality improvement.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, and environmental scientists.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those set forth by MSD (Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District).
  • Utilize AutoCAD, GIS, and other relevant software to create detailed drawings and models.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of EDM through active participation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering (M.S. preferred).
  • Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 3+ years of experience in the study and design of WRE projects (6-8 years preferred).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, and MS Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MSD's Plan Preparation Guidelines & Specifications is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal alien worker.
