Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Milton is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Technician). The ED Tech performs multiple clinical responsibilities in coordination with a team of healthcare providers to expedite the flow of patients through the department and provide the best experience and care for patients. This position is part-time at 36 hours a week for the rotating shift. Essential Responsibilities: Prioritizes and completes responsibilities delegated by nurses and physicians. Maintains a calm and professional demeanor work while working in fast pace, highly demanding environment. (essential) Performs a variety of duties including EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, crutch walking, and patient activities of daily living. Assists providers in the delivery of care and assists patients who have physical and psychological limitations, transport patients and specimens. Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection and point of service lab testing according to protocol and quality control standards. Communicates results to the appropriate staff and documents in the medical record. Maintains supply inventory needed to maintain daily operations. Stocks supplies, linen or office goods. Ensures used equipment is cleaned by appropriate process and is ready for the next patient. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required Basic Life Support certification with American Heart Association Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications: EMT, Paramedic, Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant training Nursing student with completion of one clinical rotation or other direct patient care experience 1-3 years related work experience preferred **Job Description:** E.D. TECHNICIAN **Pay Range:** $19.50 - $26.24 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
