About the Firm:
This boutique San Diego-based litigation firm was founded by experienced large-firm attorneys seeking to provide top-tier representation with the personal touch of a smaller practice. The firm handles complex business, employment, securities, and intellectual property disputes for a diverse client base, emphasizing practical results, direct partner involvement, and exceptional service. Position Overview:
The firm seeks an experienced Litigation Secretary to support a busy team of attorneys handling sophisticated civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing deadlines and supporting multiple attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Calendar and maintain all litigation-related deadlines and court schedules
+ Coordinate depositions, including scheduling, booking court reporters, and reserving conference rooms
+ Prepare and format legal documents (pleadings, discovery, motions, exhibits, TOAs/TOCs, trial binders)
+ Handle e-filing in both state and federal courts
+ Draft correspondence and shells for attorney review
+ Support 2-3 attorneys in a fast-paced environment
+ Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit management and logistics coordination
+ Maintain organized electronic and physical files in accordance with firm protocols
Work Plan:
+ Hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote after training
Compensation & Benefits:
+ Salary: $90,000-$110,000 DOE (up to $115,000 for exceptional candidates)
+ Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus
+ Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with 4% match and profit sharing; PTO (2 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, 7 holidays + 1 floating holiday)

Requirements
Qualifications:
+ 3-5+ years of civil litigation experience required
+ Proficiency with calendaring, scheduling, and document formatting
+ Familiarity with e-filing systems (state and/or federal)
+ Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude
+ Able to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to shifting deadlines
+ Experience in busy firm settings (e.g., construction defect, insurance defense, or other high-volume practice areas) a plus
