We are seeking a Locums Neurology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong background in stroke and general neurology to join our inpatient neurology team in Rockford, IL. This role is vital in delivering comprehensive neurological care and supporting both acute and ongoing patient management.
Position Details:
Setting:Inpatient neurology with some intermittent outpatient responsibilities
Schedule:Monday – Friday, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Call Requirements:None
Responsibilities:
Rounding on hospitalized neurology patients
Performing new patient consults
Managing stroke alerts and responding to acute ED and transfer evaluations
Pre- and post-operative management of endovascular cases
Intermittent clinic in-basket management
Collaborating with attending neurologists, hospital staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible NP/PA
Active DEA license
Illinois medical license (IL CSR required)
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
