This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a Medical Surgical unit. The LPN will be responsible for taking patient assignments with RN support, providing care to patients in a complex care unit, and demonstrating proficiency in various clinical skills. The role requires experience in acute care and the ability to float within the skillset.

Responsibilities:
- Take patient assignments with the support of an RN.
- Administer blood products.
- Provide central line care/management.
- Provide peripheral line care/management.
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Manage PICC lines.
- Start and maintain IVs.
- Administer High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
- Administer Nasal Cannula.
- Administer oxygen via various methods, including oxygen tanks.
- Perform trach care/management.
- Provide feeding tube care/management.
- Follow heparin protocols.
- Monitor patients with pacemakers (temporary and permanent).
- Perform telemetry monitoring on the unit.
- Participate in Rapid Response/Code teams.
- Adhere to isolation precautions.
- Provide wound care/wound vac.
- Care for MS/Tele patients.
- Care for ortho trauma patients.
- Care for patients undergoing total joint replacements.
- Manage surgical drains.
- Float within skillset as required.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active New York Single State LPN license (NY is not Compact).
- BLS certification.
- EPIC charting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 2 years.
- Ability to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN.

Special Considerations:
- Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.
- Must submit RTO and block scheduling requests upon submission.
- The client may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges.
- Must be able to float within skillset.
