Job Description
A highly respected, family-oriented construction company with a strong industry reputation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of their complex, multi-state, multi-union payroll operations. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with 3+ years of union payroll experience—preferably in the construction sector—who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to modernize payroll processes for a 400+ employee workforce.
What you will be doing:
Manage weekly payroll for 400+ union employees across multiple states and unions
Interpret and apply union contracts to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing
Oversee new hire onboarding, time entry audits, payroll reporting, and W-2 distribution
Lead payroll tax filings, ACA compliance, and ensure federal/state/local payroll regulations are met
Serve as the go-to payroll expert and drive process improvements
Utilize Sage Timberline (or a similar system) to manage payroll operations
Experience you will need:
Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a union environment
Proven experience handling multi-union and multi-state payroll
Strong knowledge of construction industry payroll practices is a major plus
Proficiency with Sage Timberline or similar payroll/ERP system
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to interpret union contracts and maintain payroll compliance
